Windows to Unix text file conversion

When I send a text file via FTP from windows to unix, I am having conversion issues. 1. If I send the file via ascii, all of the tabs in windows are converting to 8 spaces in unix. 2. If I send the file via binary, the file has issues because of the CRLF of windows. I need to be able to run a diff in unix that will only display actual changes and not the conversion problems. I have found a work around using the dos2ux command; however, I don't think that the average user would be able to perform all of the additional steps. This issue really comes down to the implementation of FTP. Is there a way to send a file from windows to unix and not have issues with the tabs and spaces.

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
