Downloading: Unable to find resource in repository central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2)

Getting this error while running Maven. What could be the problem. Is it because of wrong version of Maven.

I checked and i don't need to have this in the local repository. What could be wrong ?

Re: Downloading: Unable to find resource in repository central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2)

Maven first try to look for the repositories configured in settings.xml and then if its not foun d , it looks for it in repository central.

First you should identify where the resource should be. If its giving this error, very likely that this resource is not expected to be in Central Repository. So there could be 2 reasons

1. Resource is expected to be in configured local repository - Go to your local repository .m2/repository and see if the resource is there.

2. Configure the correct remote repository in your settings.xml either in your MAVEN_HOME or .m2

Thanks. I was able to resolve this. Actually my resource was in remote repository which wasn't configured properly in setings.xml
